What Warwick Farm Races
Where Warwick Farm Racecourse – Governor Macquarie Dr, Warwick Farm NSW 2170
When Wednesday, July 6, 2022
First Race 12:50pm AEST

New South Wales metropolitan races will be conducted at Warwick Farm on Wednesday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s Sydney tipster is on hand to highlight the best bets and quaddie selections for the seven-race card. The track is currently a Heavy 10, and the rail is out 5m from the 1000m to the winning post and 3m for the remainder of the course. The first race of the day is scheduled to jump at 12:50pm AEST.

Warwick Farm Best Bet – Hell I Am

John O’Shea and Hugh Bowman combine with promising two-year-old Hell I Am, who resumes on Wednesday as a gelding. The son of Hellbent ran an eye-catching fifth on debut in the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic, before starting favourite in the Aquis Gold Nugget on June 8 on the Gold Coast when fourth. He was a touch disappointing in his only start in late February when second, but we did see a couple of the fillies behind him go on to run very well in the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes. Hell I Am trialled really well at Randwick in late June, and he has raced well on a heavy track before, so we expect him to lose his maiden tag on Wednesday.

Warwick Farm Next Best – Travest

Travest is a bit of an enigma who does not win out of turn, but all four of this galloper’s career wins have been on his home track, right here at Warwick Farm. The Gregory Hickman-trained five-year-old ran fourth over 1400m at this track last start, but Brimstone came out of that race and won stylishly last Wednesday on the Kensington track at Randwick, franking the form. Now out to 1600m, the son of Tavistock should get all of the favours. Tyler Schiller is riding well of late, and his 2kg claim will be advantageous, while barrier 10 ensures the gelding stays out of trouble out the back. He is unbeaten at this track and distance, races well on rain-affected ground and gets in well at the weights, so he should go close.

Warwick Farm Best Value – Lisdoonvarna

Similarly to Travest, Lisdoonvarna loves it on her home track. The seven-year-old has won three of nine races at Warwick Farm, with one of those coming first-up in mid-April. The Amanda Turner-trained galloper relished the Heavy 9 that day to defeat Camino Real and Vivid Flash over 1400m, before she failed to make ground on May 11 when the leader got away with cheap sectionals. Now eight weeks between runs, the daughter of Super Easy should be nice and fresh for this 1300m race on another heavy track. Drawn low in gate two, Kathy O’Hara will have the mare in a nice spot just off midfield, allowing her to get comfortable and sprint quickly at the end. This is the right sort of race for this horse, and the online bookies are giving us great each-way odds about her.
