Kembla Grange racecourse

Kembla Grange Racecourse is operated by the Illawarra Turf Club and is one of the many provincial tracks used across NSW.

It’s believed to be in operation heading back to the 1800s; however, the Illawarra Turf Club have owned and operated the track since it’s first recorded meeting in December of 1997.

Kembla Grange Racecourse is the host of many provincial meetings throughout the racing season, with many trainers electing to operate out of these regions. This allows them to be eligible for feature races down the line such as — The Provincial-Midway Championship — raced at Randwick during the Autumn carnival.

Kembla Grange also hosts a standalone Saturday meeting for the $1,000,000 The Gong, which has been a staple of the racing season since being introduced in 2019. Other features include the Kembla Grange Classic (Group 3) for the fillies, a traditional lead up for the Vinery Stud Stakes (Group 1).
