Race 1

11 Rites Of Zhou: Manners were all at sea at The Mot last time but prior form was excellent against fields far better than this. Has to be a big chance if he trots the entire.

1 Superfast Lad: On speed runner who should stay out of trouble from the ace draw. Chance if he’s allowed to dictate his own terms and then run them home.

13 Lane’s Ace: Ottley jumps off the #1 to drive this one for her Mum, good fourth at Rangiora is a good pointer towards a positive result today.

8 Trixton Time: Bit of support on debut and not a bad run for fourth, albeit in a weaker field than this. Better for the experience though and a good hope here.

Selections: 11-1-13-8

Race 2

1 Jaffa: Didn’t get all the favours in the world up the straight at Ashburton but did well for fifth. This isn’t a deep field so expect a very forward performance.

3 Fraud: All around the action at the moment and with a good draw against an even field should get every opportunity to get onto the speed and make a big for this.

10 Emma G: Hasn’t had the best of run in the luck department recently but does land in a good spot here. Can run home strong at them late.

2 Boilover: Goes better than the form lines would probably suggest and with a good draw here and the right man in the bike, can be the one to beat.

Selections: 1-3-10-2

Race 3

6 One Over Da Son: Right horse in the right race. Gets off the unruly here and should get onto the speed early and make a strong bid for success today.

2 Lisa Marie P: In demolition mode at Roxburgh courtesy of a peach of a drive from Charlotte Purvis. Pressure goes on Matty to produce the same here and can do it too.

4 Clyde: Been putting in some big runs in strong fields recently and falls into a very winnable race today. Can certainly be right in the fight.

1 DD’s Super Stuart: Big efforts on the coast from well back in the field on all three days. Inside draw here could be heaven or could be hell. Could rush at them late with a trip.

Selections: 6-2-4-1

Race 4

2 Reattore: Plenty to like about the fresh up run at Ashburton for second. This is easier and with natural improvement should be very hard to beat.

9 Peraki Reactor: Easier than the last start Addington performance. Fresh up run for third was very good and a repeat of that goes close here.

3 Oliver North: Very good fresh up when finishing second. Should pick one up reasonably quickly and not the worst chance of it happening here either.

7 Smooth Debate: Just OK at The Mot last time. Gaps came, but didn’t really kick through them. Should find this a little easier though so an each way hope.

Selections: 2-9-3-7

Race 5

6 Rocknroll Max: Excellent recent Methven workout will have him trimmed and ready for this. Orange jumps in the bike, so it’s game on if things can unfold nicely.

9 Missmollygoodgolly: Strong effort for fourth at Ashburton on Christmas Eve. Pinup Boy form looks even better too. Smart stepper so on the speed and out of trouble.

13 Strong Enough: Methven workout winner fresh up from an astute stable. Will be ready to rock and roll and nice race to kick the campaign off in.

16 Unico Gem: Nearly stole it at huge odds at Ashburton. That suggests more than capable of pushing for glory here if things pan out nicely early.

Selections: 6-9-13-16

Race 6

4 Justan’s Sister: Some really good effort recently behind some really nice types. Should be able to roll forward here and give them all something to chase.

5 Mystical Star: Should strip fitter for the fresh up effort at Addington. Raw ability in abundance but still putting it all together. Good enough to win though.

8 Missie Castleton: Deserved her win at Addington and did it strongly too. Should be able to step up again in this field and give them something to think about late.

3 Jimmy Carter: Handy type who didn’t get all the favours last time out. Respect for the stable at this time of the year and no surprise to see a big run from behind the mobile.

Selections: 4-5-8-3

Race 7

4 Darryl Kerrigan: Looked a little unlucky at Rangiora the other day. Rough and tumble type who if able to get away with them on good terms should take some beating today.

8 Ultimate Rocker: Nice type back from a spell for strike-rate trainer. Will get better with the run under the belt but class will take him a long way in this line up.

10 Jenora: Has stepped up and produced too good efforts for new trainer and third up today should be ready to rock and roll. Can get a big slice of the action.

11 Secret Bet: Orange jumps in the bike on a horse that drops in grade today and with a bit of luck from the 20m handicap should have a big role to play.

Selections: 4-8-10-11

Race 8

6 Tall Poppy: In a rich vein of form and devastating when able to get onto the speed and dictate terms. Small field says that is likely here again too. Hard to catch.

8 Sweet Mary: Should find this a little easier than recent assignments and with a cold shot at them off the back of a hot speed can be lethal. Can win.

7 Eureka: Got it wrong at the start last time out. Smashed them three starts back an repeat of that has him right in the middle of it all here.

1 Delightful Tanner: Form on the board and small field here is bit of an assist. Might not be able to hold up from the ace but will be coming at them strong late.

Selections: 6-8-7-1

Race 9

6 Sagano: Go home strongly fresh up at The Mot and might be better suited to the all weather. Has high speed and can reel this field in with any luck.

1 Night Lights: Form on the board and going from strength to strength at the moment. Inside draw not a problem if able to hold a forward position early.

4 Invisible Girl: Consistent type who strip a bit fitter for the latest run. Best efforts in her career would go close to winning this race nine times out of ten.

10 Pembrook Legacy: Will strip a lot fitter for the run but still good enough to have a late dig at them here if the run pans out nicely. Not the worst.

Selections: 6-1-4-10

Race 10

7 Szybka Lane: Smart effort last time out and falls into a very even looking field here. Should be able to get forward and make a strong play for success,

9 Highland Reign: Class act of the field, but doesn’t win them out of turn. Ability should take here a long way though and no surprise to see her succeed today.

8 Ohoka Chopper: Third up today after two runs which have both been OK without setting the world on fire. Good enough to step up and make a play for this.

2 Chaat: Three back was very unlucky in a field much like this at Rangiora. Just needs to find the back of one early and be close enough when they turn in to grab the chance.

Selections: 7-9-8-2

BEST: 2 Reattore (Race 4)

NEXT: 6 Sagano (Race 9)

VALUE: 4 Darryl Kerrigan (Race 7)
