Race 1

6 Highland Reign: Back in her happy place at The Mot last week when winning. Should be able to be very competitive here too.

9 Machs Mareta: Has been mixing it with some pretty hot fields lately. Finds a very suitable race and could round them up late.

11 Delight Of Texas: Hasn’t done a bad job in a short career. Right kind of race to get a result. No surprise if a big run.

3 Bettor Rock Again: Bubbling away nicely in the background at the moment. Nice draw and should be able to play a role.

Selections: 6-9-11-3

Race 2

4 B D Yasothon: Has shown plenty in workouts and trials ahead of this debut. Manners seem good too. Hard to beat.

1 Mega Pixels: Got it wrong last time out but prior form had been excellent. Inside draw the main concern today though.

13 Steel Dust: Powerful trotter given some time to develop. Up to winning this but might need a couple to get to peak fitness.

9 Rachel Daytom: There’s a bit to work with there judging by workouts and trials. Manners always a concern on debut though.

Selections: 4-1-13-9

Race 3

11 Darryl Kerrigan: Kept fighting after getting left three wide at The Mot last week. Better on the grit perhaps. Today’s the day.

4 All Money: Probably should have won a maiden by now, but this isn’t a strong field. Good chance to get things happening.

8 Hidden Delight: Held up and still looking for room from the fresh up run. Up to most in this field with any luck in the running.

3 Gottagetabeer: Showed her readiness with a good trial win recently. Has always looked capable and can play a part here.

Selections: 11-4-8-3

Race 4

12 Ardee Trouble: Did it tough and kept fighting last time out at Addington. When he’s good, he’s good. Big chance today.

11 Terrier: Really nice trial recently to ready for this. Has a motor and if he gets it right there’s no reason why he couldn’t win.

9 Majestic Sunset: Tidy trial at Ashburton last week to get ready for this. Won maiden on this track so just needs to do it right.

8 Prince Teka: Run of an improver at Addington fresh up and the manners are exemplary. Comes right into contention.

Selections: 12-11-9-8

Race 5

4 Sheza Bromac: Looked right on song when winning her recent workout. Smart too. Nice race to kick off in and should go close.

10 Fine By Me: Hit the line nicely in a red hot field at Addington on debut. Needs a little luck from the inside draw here though.

7 Skreemr: Hasn’t quite put it all together on race day. But has shown glimpses. Nice opportunity to stack up here.

3 Jive: Draw didn’t do much for the chance last week. Much better suited here and can run into the top four from there.

Selections: 4-10-7-3

Race 6

12 Cloud Nine: Nigel McGrath and Blair Orange combine for this one. Took on some smart types last campaign. You’ll need him.

1 Patronus Star: Showed some promise on debut at The Mot with a good effort. Manners were good so should be there again.

2 Dametoro: Has a motor and has been ticking along nicely in workouts and trials. Good enough to play a big role in this.

4 El Chapo: Did a power of work last time out and kept fighting. Won’t have to do as much here today and can get some of it.

Selections: 12-1-2-4

Race 7

5 Standout: No shame in runner-up effort behind Taxman last time. Headed for better things and can win here.

4 Chevron Flies: Speedy little filly who demolished them on debut. A little harder here but likely to be in control.

1 Virginia Cool: Did a good job last season and recent trial behind a smart one was good. Not the worst from the inside barrier.

8 Naholo: Talented horse back from a long spell. Won’t mind having to do a little work and good enough to win it.

Selections: 5-4-1-8

Race 8

5 Missie Castleton: Manners a big issue so far in this campaign. No doubt the motor though. Right kind of race for her.

8 Stylish Duke: Will strip a lot fitter for the fresh up run. Quick beginner who will eat up the handicap quickly.

4 Beyond The Horizon: Genuine performer who will do things eight and just keep coming at them late. Nice each way option.

6 Red Harbour: On the quick back up from Addington where things didn’t go right. Prior form excellent in fields better than this.

Selections: 5-8-4-6

Race 9

5 Laver: Tried to put them to the sword at Oamaru last time out but smart ones ran on by. None of them here. Can win.

10 Invaluable: Brave again at The Mot last week. Tricky draw this though so needs a little bit of luck to get into it.

13 Ringo’s A Star: Nice type back from a spell and workout and trial form has looked pretty good. Don’t underestimate on debut.

3 Silent Major: Always respect a maiden runner from the Brendon Hill stable. Good draw and nice trial form – not the worst.

Selections: 5-10-13-3

Race 10

6 Jazelle: Stripped really nicely for trial win late last month. More than capable of putting them to the sword here.

7 Jaimes Bad Boy: Plenty to like about some of the recent performances. No superstar but a genuine contender in an even field.

13 Simply Dreaming: Interesting runner of the field. Has always looked reasonably handy and now with Matt Purvis.

1 Jonty James: Not bad last week at Mot, but gets a good draw here and won’t do any extra work. Can surprise.

Selections: 6-7-13-1

BEST: 6 Jazelle (Race 10)

NEXT: 4 B D Yasothon (Race 2)

VALUE: 5 Missie Castleton (Race 8)
