12 Zoned Scarlett: Facing a massive drop in grade for this today and Blair Orange jumps in the bike. Yes, please.
3 Alpine Retreat: Runs since resuming have been those of an improver. Headed in the right direction and each way.
11 The Rev: In the Williamson barn, so there’s something there. Right kind of race. Big watch.
9 Cuddle Trouble: Got home nicely last time out. Goes OK and this is the right kind of race. Can get some of it.

Race 2
5 Yoha: Two great runs since returning from a spell. Certainly knocking on the door of success and good chance here.
10 Yuko: Caught the eye with the fast finishing effort at Addington on debut. Can run at them late here.
4 Renegade Rose: Two good runs to open the career and drawn to be handy to the speed here. Each way hope.
3 Allboutjoy: Did a near enough job last season. Should be stronger and will win one at quick notice.

Race 3
7 Asian Elvis: Bit to like about the debut run at Oamaru in a good field. Repeat of that here and he’ll win today.
6 Hold Thumbs: A long way from home, but qualified nicely up the Island. Stable and driver respect.
13 Terror The Christian: Three runs for three thirds, all against good fields. Has to break through soon.
1 Rockngoodtime: Showed a bit of stick on debut for sixth in a good field. Trial win since. Can at least place.

Race 4
2 Mongolian Conqueror: Smart stable, top driver and good qualifying effort v. Italian Lad. Yes to winning here.
5 Pembrook Playboy: Promising type back from a spell. Took on some hot fields last season. Can get a slice.
13 Undercover Mac: Handy enough type back from a spell and into a new barn. Not the worst in this line up.
4 The Naenae Express: Consistent if nothing else and does work from a good draw today. Can sneak a place.

Race 5
5 Robyn’s Playboy: Took on the Hannon field and actually wasn’t that bad. This is the go though, should win for fun.
6 Unloaded: In nick and freshened up nicely with a good trial win. Can give the favourite a fright.
1 Ivana Legacy: Small field might suit the chances. Just needs the one cold shot at them late. With it, a chance.
3 Ideal Draw: Showed improvement to run fourth last time. Better than most think and can get a bit of this.

Race 6
8 Picketts Ridge: Nice run for third last time out after powerhouse win. Should be the hardest to beat in a good field.
9 Wee Man Trouble: Hit or miss, but when he’s hit, he’s untouchable. Patient hands early and it’s game on.
5 Imran Khan: Hasn’t been bad in last three runs, things just probably haven’t quite worked out. Can swoop here.
7 Robbie Royale: In good form and beat most of these last time out. No reason why it can’t happen again.

Race 7
9 Motoring Major: Had a bit to offer when chopped out at Ashburton. Matt Saunders now trains. Can win.
10 Swift Robyn: Bit more like it with good effort for third last time. Headed in the right direction. Each way hope.
6 Star Ruler: Might be his kind of race today. If he puts them to the sword he might just out tough them all.
1 Edie Jaccka: Gets a good draw to work with in a very even looking field. Should be right in amongst it all.

6 Willison: Has been massive in last couple of runs in hot fields up the road in Christchurch. Gets his chance here.
8 Carlos Bromac: Two from two and impressive in both. Another step up today, but doing it as he should.
4 Onesmartfella: There’s a bit of talk about this guy. Looked very good on debut when second. Right in this.
7 Deus Ex: Very nice win last time out, this is harder but there’s a bit to work with there. .

Race 9
5 Countess Of Arden: Low flying at the moment and drawn well enough to look to dominate them again.
7 Tall Poppy: Big trial win at Rangiora to ready for this. Will get better with racing but some chance today.
9 Lawrence: Nice type back from a spell and into a pretty even looking line up. Needs luck but could win it.
5 My Georgie Boy: Very good run fresh up and should be better for it. Needs a bit of luck to win, but could do it.

Race 10
10 American Mac: A little unlucky last time out. Overall form is excellent though and this isn’t a strong field.
11 Tairlaw Toll: Very good fresh up to finish second. Will be hitting the line very strongly again here too.
2 Franco Huntington: Kept coming last time for third. One day he’ll run them into the dirt. Each way.
1 Jacks N Jazz: Enigmatic type, but does have a motor. Senior driver back on might help. Rough chance.
