Race 1

10 Young Conqueror: Taken on much stronger fields than this one over the past few months and has produced the goods too. Hardest to beat here.

8 The Empress: Speedy type who should be able to measure up to this field, especially over the extreme distance. Has to be a strong each way chance.

7 Bettor Sensation: In great form at the moment and running home strongly and finding the line with purpose. One of many chances in today’s assignment.

2 The Lone Ranger: Consist performer who may appreciate the two mile journey. Especially if he can get onto the speed early and find a nice trip.

Selections: 10-8-7-2

Race 2

6 Hampton Bromac: Shown a bit of ability in two starts to date and comes into what looks to be a very winnable race tonight. Won’t be far away from the action.

2 Super Actor: Three of the four career runs to date have been very good. Plum draw for this and should be hitting the line strongly.

5 Secret Deal: First starter from a strike-rate, in form stable. Has shown a bit in workouts in trials. Will give this a pretty good shake on debut.

4 Bart Maguire: Handy run to finish fourth on debut. Small field here and a handy draw makes the chances look even better. Shouldn’t be too far away from them.

Selections: 6-2-5-4

Race 3

8 Double Or Nothing: Should appreciate getting away from the challenge of a Sires’ Stakes heat for today’s assignment. Wide draw, but good enough to overcome

10 Charlotte Royal: Overall the form lines look excellent for a race like this. Can pick and choose the battles from the second row and won’t be too far away.

6 Simon: Under rated wee pacer who will appreciate getting away from some strong company up the road for this today. Has to be considered a good hope.

4 Ohoka Achillies: Has always been above average and now in the Balle barn. Did some good things down in Canterbury and will give this a good crack too.

Selections: 8-10-6-4

Race 4

3 Massive Metro: Huge run on Friday night to go down by a narrow margin. Small field here suits and as long as the manners come, he’ll be the one to beat.

5 Lemond: Good enough to place in some of our best two mile races, so should enjoy this challenge. Small field makes him a big chance of success.

4 Temporale: Lovely run fresh up on Friday night. Only going to be better for the performance and has to be considered a strong winning chance here.

2 Gershwin: Handy trotter who was very good winning last time out. This is harder, albeit a four horse race. Won’t be too far away from them when it gets serious.

Selections: 3-5-4-2

Race 5

9 Tobruk: Has the ability, but the manners aren’t always there. Can’t afford to miss a beat tonight but with a clean round becomes the horse to beat.

5 Prince George: Not too bad last week after finding the front. Jump and run type who can give them all something to chase here today and get right into the action.

13 Red Castleton: Nice type back from a spell but has to give them a bit of a start. Can get into the race and go close to running them down but will need luck.

8 Aoraki: All the form on the board and more than competitive in stronger fields than this recently. Big chance to get in amongst the action once again.

Selections: 9-5-13-8

Race 6

5 Eighteen Carat: Third in a Sires’ Stakes heat at his last start. That’s good going for a race like this. Should get onto the speed and prove to be hard to beat.

1 Bettor Get It On: Trouble last time out, but put a line through that. Showed some upside in a recent trial effort and gets the right draw to make the most of.

4 Milliethepiper: Did a bit of a work last time out. This isn’t quite as a hard and does have the game to be more than competitive in a race like this.

3 Kolovos: Better than most in this field but often beats himself. Looking for a turn around in form and if it comes, he’s right in the mix here.

Selections: 5-1-4-3

Race 7

7 Allonblack: Grinding type who always runs a good race and falls into a very winnable looking race here. Should work forward and give them all plenty to think about.

3 Bugsalugs: Couple of nice runs in the last two performances. Handy enough draw here and should be right in the middle of the action when things get serious.

5 Mr Incredible: Hit the line with real purpose last time out. Gets in here, OK and looks one of the leading chances based on the career so far.

6 Turkish Trousers: Going better than what a casual glance at the form line might look. Just needs a little bit of luck to get things going again.

Selections: 7-3-5-6

Race 8

3 Monsinee: Nicely bred trotter who has shown plenty in workouts and trials. Stable doesn’t usually step them out unless there’s ability there. Big watch on debut.

1 Battle Commander: First starter from a stable in form and has shown a bit of ability in workouts and trials too. Manners always the issue, but can win.

4 Demolition Man: In good nick, last few runs have been encouraging and should be ready now to step up and really make a play for that maiden win.

6 Splitting Image: Manners are good which is a big plus and hasn’t been too far away from the action in all career starts. Would be a deserving maiden winner.

Selections: 3-1-4-6

BEST: 5 Eighteen Carat (Race 6)

NEXT: 10 Young Conqueror (Race 1)

VALUE: 9 Tobruk (Race 5)
