2 The Batmobile: Near enough in these types of races and gets the advantage of a beaut draw to work from today so has to be considered a leading contender.
1 A Better Dancer: Everything maps out beautifully here for a sweet trip just off the speed before getting a cold shot at them late up the lane. Can win it.
5 Lynton Creek: Goes well here and in these types of races. Sure to make a strong account of oneself once again today with any luck.
7 Veneto: Not much went right last week but into a pretty winnable type of race here. Sweet trip and a bit of clear air and there’s good hope.
7 Quarterback: First up from a strong stable and has shown a bit of ability in workouts and trials. Not the worst in what is a very even looking field.
8 Tommy Tukka: Jumps out of some strong recent fields up the road in Auckland for this. Should appreciate it and won’t be too far away from them.
3 Class Rebel: A little bit of upside about this debutant by Sir Lincoln. Trials have been OK and gets a good draw to work from.
4 Jetson Hunter: In good form down the road at Manawatu. That should hold up OK here with experience and fitness on the side.
8 Thatgirltrouble: Up to competing with any of these and the return to the mobile should make all the difference tonight. Look out for her late.
4 Natty Pagger: Got it all together and delivered a telling blow last time out. More than capable of going back to back if things work out.
1 Saint Michel: Snuck up the lane to win last week at Auckland and really deserved it too. Good draw and a trotter in form, go again.
5 Lukyanova: Another who is in good form at the moment and should be able to make a play for this from the middle of the front line.
5 Artemis: Hasn’t really had the rub of the green in two starts to date but a good draw against an even field here could see things turned around quickly.
2 Emmber: Going well and often against stronger fields from trickier draws. Certainly going to be in the right kind of places tonight to get a slice.
6 Cowgirls N Lace: Very good run on debut against a far better field than this. Should be able to follow the stablemate across and land a nice spot.
3 Downtown Babe: Form reads well and should be at peak fitness now so ready to rock and roll from the very handy front line draw.
3 Kerri Maguire: Stood up and delivered last time out at Auckland in fine style. Headed in the right direction and should be hard to beat again tonight.
8 Ferrits Sister: Bit of a drop in grade tonight. Wide draw but scratchings make it a little easier. Can get outside the speed and dominate them with any luck.
2 Tempo Rose: Not much went right at Cambridge but sweet trip likely on offer here and with one cold shot at them can sneak up the lane late.
9 Cowgirls N Angels: New stable, talented enough pacer and it will be interesting to see if change of environment works. Might need some luck but good enough.
10 Madeakillin: Potentially the best horse in the race but still learning. Impressive victory last time out and repeat of that will go close here.
9 Safrakova: Got too far back last week at Auckland and couldn’t fire a shot. Better if able to land closer to the speed here today.
12 Phoebe Imperial: Good win last time out. Built to it beautifully and can make a play once again here, even off the back mark of 25m.
3 The Last Gamble: Got it wrong last time out but the prior form was very encouraging and with a good beginning and a nice trip he’s a definite chance.
6 About Turn: Plenty of merit in all the runs since returning from a spell. Should be able to work forward here, find a good position and then be hard to beat.
2 Callie’s Delight: On speed runner who is drawn up to get to the markers here which makes her a leading contender, especially if she can get an easy time ouf it.
1 Bubbled Up: Into the Mangos barn and a former All Stars runner. Has always been capable and should get the right kind of trip here fresh up to make a play for it.
5 Ace Strike: Doing a great job but this is the real litmus test. Will need to be better than ever but seems capable of measuring up to them here today.
2 Oscar Bonavena: Superstar trotter stepping out for another challenge. Everything points towards greatness for him and he’s going to be awfully hard to beat tonight.
3 Marcoola: Loves the mile and might look to ignite early and really put the pressure on them. An on fire Marcoola over a mile could push Oscar Bonavena.
6 Enhance Your Calm: Excellent performance fresh up behind talented stablemate. Only going to be better for that and can be a major player here.
8 Majestic Man: High speed horse who if saved for one cold shot at them could be capable of running them down late here off a hot speed.
7 Louie The Horse: Smart type who copped a bit of bad luck last time out. Should be able to stand up and deliver here though and get things back on track.
1 Quick As Fire: Inside draw should be very beneficial towards his chance tonight. Can certainly be right in the mix.
11 Itathefinalcountdown: Up from Canterbury. Does have a motor and it would be no surprise to see a much improved effort here today.
10 To Sir With Love: Has the ability but not quite doing it right at the moment. Gets a good chance to get some form on the board here though.
10 Presidential Jewel: Has the motor and is getting better and better with racing. Can certainly make the presence felt in this tonight.
9 Tears Of Joy: Much improved in the last month with three really strong runs. Right kind of race again and should be able to play a big role.
12 Duchess Of Cambridge: Nice type resuming from a spell here. Some good workout and trial form on the board too. Certainly a chance.
4 Strength Of Heart: Going well and off the front tape here with a quick beginning can certainly be a major player today.
BEST: 7 Louie The Horse (Race 9)
NEXT: 3 Kerri Maguire (Race 5)
