The Shark heads back to Cambridge Raceway for the second time in two days for a huge card of Saturday harness racing action in search of winners. For more punting information head to The Punters Lounge

Race 1

1 Military Man: Debutant who’s shown plenty of ability in workouts and trials and hails from an astute stable. Good draw and hard to beat.

8 Rough And Ready: Plenty of encouragement in the first run in the North Island when hitting the line solidly. Should have a role to play in today’s assignment.

7 Carse O Fern Tom: Two really good runs since resuming from a spell and the small nature of today’s field should bring him right into contention.

9 Blake: Is better than his form line would suggest and gets a chance today with the small field and Zachary Butcher in the bike.

Selections: 1-8-7-9

Race 2

8 Aldebaran Bonny: Making a good fist of life in the North Island and hit the line strongly last time out. Should be right in contention again here today.

2 Presidential Jewel: Smart performance again last time out and is really in the zone at the moment. Another win looks very close at hand.

1 The Rev: Some strong performances recently and gets into the draw here and should land in a forward position which enhances the chances further.

4 Flying Taine: Desperately unlucky last time out but form prior to that and the win two back was excellent. Has to be considered a leading contender today.

Selections: 8-2-1-4

Race 3

1 Itsthefinalcountdown: Brave effort to finish second behind Olivia Rachel last time out. Positive swing in the draws for this and should be right in the middle of the action.

4 Tommy Tukaa: Impressive winning last time out and looks destined to win a fair few more in the career. Can add another here too from a handy draw.

10 Olivia Rachel: Delivered last time out in fine style and sticks in a similar grade so sure to be more the competitive once again here today.

6 Cowgirls N Angels: Got the job done well last time out and does seem to race well on the course. Has to be given a strong each option again today.

Selections: 1-4-10-6

Race 4

1 Dametoro: Good run off a similar draw last time out and meets a field not quite as strong as that so should be hard to beat with a similar performance.

7 Sky Full Of Stars: Bit to learn yet judging by debut effort when galloping, but there’s a bit of a motor there and no surprise to see a strong bid today with better manners.

4 Super Actor: Bad draw put an end to the chances last time out. Is going better than what a casual glance might suggest. Has to be thrown in the mix.

6 Miss Shuga: Another who hasn’t had the greatest of luck recently but is going OK. Even nature of today’s fields helps the chances.

Selections: 1-7-4-6

Race 5

7 Delson: Did it as he liked last time out when making his first appearance here on the course. Best is very good and if he brings his A Game, he’ll be hard to beat again.

9 CK Spur: Out of the Inter Dominions for this. 55m handicap is imposing, but he’s a class act and should be able to get himself in on the action.

4 Anna Kate: Two good wins to open up this campaign. Excellent manners will have her on, or near to, the speed through and she’s a chance again.

6 Need Luck: Hit the line with real purpose last night when running fourth. Won’t mind a quick back up and right in the mix again today.

Selections: 7-9-4-6

Race 6

5 Peter Forsberg: Right kind of race for a horse like him, especially if he can get onto the speed and give them something to think about. Could be hard to catch.

7 Lavazza: Continues to produce strong performances in good fields and might actually find this a little easier. Needs to be included in all options.

1 Ruby Baby: Classy performance last time out to get the win on the board. Headed in the right direction and from the ace should have something to say.

6 Charlotte Royal: Last effort was on Premier night at Auckland, so will find this a whole lot easier. Can make a play for it from the handy draw.

Selections: 5-7-1-6

Race 7

10 Gambit: Class performer of the race who did a bit wrong fresh up but does have a very good motor. Good field, but he’s got a class edge on most so has to be the one to beat.

11 Mr Kiwi: Will find today’s challenge a bit easier than some of his most recent performances. 30m handicap to contend with but good enough to overcome it and give a sight.

1 The Bandit Queen: Under rated wee pacer who is never too far away from the action and a good winner last time. Can get on the speed here and have a shot at them late.

7 The Lone Ranger: In form and doing everything really well at the moment. Won’t mind a bit of a hot tempo here and has to be given an each-way chance.

Selections: 10-11-1-7

Race 8

10 Quick As Fire: Can be a bit in and out at times but is better than most lining up in this field and gets the perfect opportunity to get another win on the board here.

12 Cool And Calculating: Three handy performances in the last three races. Meets a very even looking field here and with any luck should be right in the mix.

2 Turkish Trousers: Gets a good draw against a field he should be competitive in and with any luck will be right in the fight when things get serious.

13 Our Wicklow: Not the worst chance in this. Genuine performer who despite not having won for a while will be running on stronger than most in this field. A good chance.

Selections: 10-12-2-13

Race 9

7 Eagle Watch: Nice type who was very good fresh up when running second and with natural improvement looks one of the best bets of the day here.

6 Matai Minky: In a good run of form at the moment and always competitive. Seems to transition well from grass to grit and can have a say a them late.

2 Toro Delago: Pass mark last time out but the runner up effort prior was good enough to make him a leading contender in this from the good draw.

9 Captain Max: Inside of the second row draw isn’t ideal, but he’s good enough to overcome it. Just a little bit of luck and he should fill a top four spot.

Selections: 7-6-2-9

Race 10

5 Manhattan Sunshine: Hasn’t had the best of luck lately, but gets into a very winnable race from a good draw today and should be hard to roll with a little more in his favour.

10 Jive: Nice effort to finish runner up in first look in the North Island. Should win a few races up in these parts and a live hope today.

9 Brookies Jaffa: Hasn’t really put a foot wrong in the last four starts with each of them excellent performances. Inside draw here doesn’t help but will be hitting the line strong again.

2 Class Rebel: There was enough encouragement in the first up effort on debut to suggest that a win won’t take long to come and a good draw today gives a good chance.

Selections: 5-10-9-2

Race 11

3 Heston Hall: Debutant with a bit of breeding and some good workout and trial form ahead of today’s first appearance. Manners seem OK, so have to have him in.

8 Battle Commander: Went down fighting in the final strides the other day. Going to win one soon and with any luck it probably will be today.

12 Lollieprop: Talented, but enigmatic. Bookies haven’t missed him though. Good enough to round them all up if in the right mood.

1 Monsinee: Has shown real potential in workouts and trials but yet to translate that to race day. Chance if he does everything right.

Selections: 3-8-12-1

BEST: 7 Eagle Watch (Race 9)

NEXT: 1 Dametoro (Race 4)

VALUE: 5 Peter Forsberg (Race 6)
