Race 1

4 Dina Bolt: Clinical victory last week when breaking the maiden status. That was a long time coming. Should go on with it now, hard to beat again.

10 Gliding Away: Underrated pacer who’s been excellent in two starts on the track. Has a future in front of him and can win this with the right kind of run.

1 Louie The Horse: Two great performances to open up this campaign, sure in fields not as strong as this, but he’s a big chance from the inside draw here.

3 Down To The Bone: Should appreciate getting away from the big guns of his age group for this assignment tonight. Drawn to be positive.

Selections: 4-10-1-3

Race 2

2 Copy That: Declared himself as the horse they all have to beat this season with excellent performance to win last week. Drawn to offer up more of the same.

1 Flying Even Bettor: Plagued by bad draws in big races but finally lands a marble here and with the right kind of run can sneak up the lane and get the job done.

8 One Change: No shame in defeat last week after working hard mid-race. Wide draw makes it hard, but he’s an exceptional horse capable of doing remarkable things.

4 Smooth Deal: Would expect him to take considerable improvement from last week’s effort. Has to be better for the run and his best is more than competitive here.

Selections: 2-1-8-4

Race 3

8 Oscar Bonavena: Everything went wrong in the Dominion. Faultless prior to that and would have gone close in Inter Dominion final had he been there. Untouchable here if he does things right.

3 Tickle Me Pink: Brilliant effort fresh up a fortnight ago. Only going to be better for that. Chasing a superstar here, but ready to pounce if things go wrong for the favourite.

4 Enhance You Calm: Enigmatic, but brilliant trotter on the comeback trail. Should be better for this run tonight, but his best version could push the #8.

2 Renezmae: Showed a brilliant turn of foot to get as close as she did last week. Should be handier here and wouldn’t be the worst place chance with a sweet trip.

Selections: 8-3-4-2

Race 4

5 Amazing Dream: Outstanding in defeat last week after doing a power of work. Handier draw here and that should play right into her hands. The one they all have to beat.

4 Need You Now: Early speed to lob the trail and was then too good for them up the lane last week to win impressively. No reason why she couldn’t repeat the dose again.

10 Spellbound: Brave in defeat last week after setting the tempo and copping some mid race pressure. Trickier draw here but class will take her a long way tonight.

11 Stylish Memphis: Classy wee filly who cops a tricky draw for tonight’s assignment. Has more upside than most though and can still play a big role.

Selections: 5-4-10-11

Race 5

9 Belle Of Montana: Untouchable last week. Cops a tricky second row draw, but being a class above her rivals negates that somewhat. High speed and the one to beat again.

5 Wainui Creek: Brave effort in defeat last week behind her outstanding stablemate. There to pounce if any bad luck does come her rivals way. A solid each way bet.

4 Some Do: Continued the meteoric rise to better things with another outstanding victory last time out. Biggest test tonight, but she’s good. Tonight we find out just how good.

8 Scorcha: Steps up into the big time tonight after some outstanding performances down in Canterbury. Tricky draw, but she’s got unreal speed and can reel most of them in late.

Selections: 9-5-4-8

Race 6

4 Majestic Man: Excellent series thus far and extra distance is right up his alley, especially if he can find the back of one early and then unleash that powerful sprint we all know he possesses.

2 Winterfell: The form horse of the series and some outstanding reports from mid-week track work. Drawn to get handy and if he finds the lead then it might be race over.

8 Marcoola: Beautifully prepped for this with no taxing heat runs. His best is brilliant and if he brings that tonight we’re in for a very exciting spectacle. Can win it.

Selections: 4-2-8

Race 7

12 Classie Brigade: Will relish a slight drop in grade for tonight’s assignment, tricky draw though. Won’t shirk the fight though and repeat of Cup Week efforts takes him close.

3 Another Masterpiece: A series to largely forget, but there’s a motor there and if they can unleash it, he’s a big chance of getting the right result tonight.

11 Colt Thirty One: Mixed series but excellent third on the final night of heats. That momentum should carry him a long way in this assignment tonight.

6 Our Uncle Sam: Not much has gone right in the series so far. Should enjoy tonight’s assignment though and can wind his way into and give them all something to think about.

Selections: 12-3-11-6

Race 8

5 Ultimate Sniper: Nothing has measured up to his standard in the series thus far. Dominant and clinical in each of the three heats. Deserves the favourite tag and is the one they all need to beat.

7 A G’s White Socks: The surprise packet of the series up to this point and loves the Alexandra Park way of racing. Can boom the gate, get handy and really make a play for this tonight.

11 Cruz Bromac: Excellent form throughout the heats concluding with an outstanding win on the final night. Somewhat the forgotten runner of the race. Can win, but might need luck.

13 Thefixer: Hitting the line strongly in all heats of the series. Might need a little bit of luck and a red hot speed up in front of him, but can get over the top of them late if things fall into place.

Selections: 5-7-11-13

Race 9

8 Self Assured: The next big thing in harness racing ready to rock and roll for another campaign. Wide draw, but even that might not be enough to stop him from success here.

1 Double Rocket: Handy runs since coming back from a spell and with a nice run on the markers he looks one of the best place chances in the race for sure.

3 Delightful Major: Unlucky last time out. His best is pretty good and while a few here might have the wood on him the Blair Orange factor enhances his prospects in this.

10 Bettorstartdreaming: Big effort to finish second last week after missing away from the stand. Better suited here and has high speed late in proceedings if saved for one run at them.

Selections: 8-1-3-10

Race 10

8 Delson: His best, is very good. The mobile is a big assist too. Wide draw, but his ability will take him a long way here and no surprise to see him get a big slice of the action at a pice.

3 Havehorsewilltravel: Made up a bit of ground last week in a much better field. Drawn well here and would be a worthy winner if things fell into place for him.

2 Circus Boy: Made the most of a sweet trip to upset at big odds last time out. That was no fluke though, he’s more than capable giving this a decent shake too.

6 Ace Commander: Getting better with racing and the small nature of tonight’s field only further enhances his chances as a potential winner of this line up.

Selections: 8-3-2-6

BEST: 8 Self Assured (Race 9)

NEXT: 5 Amazing Dream (Race 4)

VALUE: 8 Delson (Race 10)
