The Shark goes looking for Friday night harness racing winners from Addington Raceway.

Race 1

10 The Player: Stood up and delivered a rather telling blow when first up for the Dunn stable. That was in the maiden grade though, there’s a couple of hardy souls here. Still the one to beat.

11 Sugar Cane: Did plenty of work early to find the front last week and it only told very late. Can fly the tape and get handy and give them all something to shake again.

2 Momentous: No worry about the manners, will just trot, trot and then trot some more. No superstar, but good enough to get in on the action should others fail.

8 Unique Marshall: Probably just a little under the usual standards lately, but another good chance to get things back on track tonight in a winnable race.

Selections: 10-11-2-8

Race 2

2 A Delightful Act: Into the Mitch Kerr barn and looked smart winning a workout from the front recently Everything points towards something good here.

4 Louis Litt: Really drove at the line last time out to go down narrowly. Held in pretty high regard and they might take the kid gloves off tonight and have a serious crack.

1 Carita: Has been a little unlucky in the last two and really attacked the line last week. This draw should work out just perfectly. Has to be a good place chance at least.

7 Terror The Christian: Smart up and coming pacer on debut from a good stable here. Trial and workout form is very good. Can win with the right amount of luck.

Selections: 2-4-1-7

Race 3

4 Rocknroll King: Showed some good mental fortitude to a) stay in the right gait and b) hold on to get the win last time. Loving beach life and can win again.

1 Minstrel: Showed a bit of class to win in a very good maiden field last time, albeit from a good trip. Looks set for one of those again. Can win again too.

2 Yorkshire: They climbed out of trees to get on when he lined up on debut and they got paid nicely. Just how good he is, who knows? We’ll find out tonight.

8 Team Kiwi: Beat a good line up last time out at Rangiora and is a little underrated to be honest. Should get home nicely here tonight.

Selections: 4-1-2-8

Race 4

7 Portalegre: Is only going to be better for the first up run from the new stable. Classy customer who will get better and better as the season goes on. Go again.

4 Voodoo Priestess: Smart customer back from a let up here. Took on some red hot fields last campaign and did really well – leading junior in the bike too.

2 Rake: Came from nowhere and nearly pulled off the victory last time out. In great fettle and seems to be getting better and better. Can get a slice here tonight too.

14 Matt Damon: Stood up and delivered in fine style at Rangiora last time out. Has a future and might be able to swoop on this field late in the race.

Selections: 7-4-2-14

Race 5

2 Prodigal Guinness: Plenty to like about the debut effort behind a pretty smart one last week. There was some strong merit in that run. Can go one better here.

13 Emmersyn Lee: Came home from an impossible situation with great gusto on debut. A little bit more luck in the running here and anything is possible.

8 Krystal Delight: First starter from the Hope team with a bit of workout and trial form on the board. Giving massive respect in her direction on debut.

1 Scorcha: Nigel McGrath and Blair Orange combining with a fresh up runner, you’d be mad to leave it out. That trial win at Rangiora was very good too.

Selections: 2-13-8-1

Race 6

8 Mikey Maguire: Big and dour pacer who doesn’t mind a bit of a scrap. Freshened up for this and will enjoy the small field. Can win with the right kind of run.

7 Doitson: Really hit his straps in recent months and was very good last time out following that emphatic win. Go again, he’s a good each way chance.

3 Go Davey: Freshened up for this and doesn’t race badly in that state. Should get on the speed and keep giving, the whole way to the line. Could win it too.

5 Copperhead Rose: Here for his fourth run in a week (two races, one workout and one trial) so should be fit. Tough as old boots but a couple here maybe too fast.

Selections: 8-7-3-5

Race 7

5 A G’s White Socks: Smart pacer with big aspirations for this season, small field might make him vulnerable as it could become a tactical affair. Still the leading contender.

1 Classie Brigade: First up from a wee freshen up and was pretty smart winning a recent trial. On the markers and doing no extra work, game on.

6 Hail Christian: Has been smashing out some impressive sectionals in workouts and trials and looks ready for a big resumption tonight.

3 Stick Man: Dealt them a lesson at Gore on Sunday, this is a big step up. But could lead the charge behind the leading three.

Selections: 5-1-6-3

Race 8

1 Friend: In great form and comes up with the ace draw here. Will be on the speed, out of trouble and looking to keep them all honest. Should go close to winning.

5 Corona: Nice run last time out from a tricky draw. Right man in the bike to get things happening here and would be no surprise to see a big effort.

4 B Mac C: Speed merchant when saved for that one run at them so ducking for cover here and then looking to romp home late. Game on.

2 Motoring Major: Got the stitch at the 400m last week, but that was in a better field than this. Can be competitive in this line up.

Selections: 1-5-4-2

Race 9

2 Diana Harbour: Stoff up and delivered something quite special last time out. Really going from strength to strength. If she trots away early, she’s going to be hard to beat.

1 Girls Let Loose: Big win fresh up at Oamaru. One draw is a bit of a concern, but safely through that and it’s game on again here.

12 Madeleine Stowe: Got it done in easy fashion last week, low-flying and trotting like a star. Can win again off the back mark.

5 The Bloss: In great form and putting herself in the race and keeping them honest. Deserves a winning turn and with the right amount of luck could get there tonight.

Selections: 2-1-12-5

Race 10

8 All Nuts N Bolts: The old boy is flying again and was oh so brave last time out behind a smart one. This is easier and really does look his race to lose.

7 Jungle Gem: Better for the fresh up run and should go on with it now. Not a deep field so expecting a pretty big performance here tonight.

6 Beau Vitsa: Hitting the line nicely last time out and third up tonight should be ready to fire on all cylinders. Can get a big slice of the action here.

10 Awesome Speed: Did it tough last time out, but that was in a tougher field too. Expecting this to be a bit more to the liking and or thing to turn around.

Selections: 8-7-6-10

BEST: 1 Friend (Race 8)

NEXT: 2 A Delightful Act (Race 2)

VALUE: 8 Mikey Maguire (Race 6)
