Incentivise

Incentivise, the Caulfield Cup winner, will start favourite in the 2021 Melbourne Cup and looks to be the horse to beat. Incentivise winning the Melbourne Cup would complete a remarkable comeback to racing for popular trainer Peter Moody and a rapid rise to fame for the five-year-old gelding. Incentivise has been slugged with 57kg after the impressive Caulfield Cup win which will be the most weight a winner has had to cart since Makybe Diva won the third of her Melbourne Cups.

When will Incentivise run in the Melbourne Cup?

The Melbourne Cup will be run on the first Tuesday in November despite all the COVID19 chaos, but without the huge crowds that normally grace Flemington on Cup Day.

The one thing that hasn’t changed about the 2021 Melbourne Cup is the horses.

Once again The Cup has brought together an elite field of Melbourne Cup horses to contest the two mile race for $7.75 Million.

The story of the 2021 Melbourne Cup is Incentivise. From being beaten in a Toowoomba maiden by 16-lengths earlier in the year, to being one of the shortest priced Melbourne Cup favourites in recent history. His win in the Caulfield Cup was reminiscent of Might And Power back in his prime, whilst he has now brought up his winning streak to nine races without tasting defeat and what better race to bring up a 10th consecutive win than in the Melbourne Cup?

Can Incentivise win The Cup?

He is the favourite for the 2021 Melbourne Cup for a reason, his wins in the Makybe Diva Stakes and Turnbull Stakes were impressive, but his win in the Caulfield Cup was nothing short of breathtaking. He is the one to beat and should be giving Peter Moody his first Melbourne Cup success.
