Best Bet at Dubbo – Taborca

Three-year-old gelding Taborca is having his first start in Cameron Crockett’s care following three preparations with Chris Waller. The son of Snitzel was competitive as a two-year-old behind Crystal Bound and Hunnam in Melbourne, before heading north to Sydney where he raced well at metropolitan level. Since being with Crockett, Taborca has trialled once at Scone behind Master Of Rewards who was narrowly beaten on Tuesday at Armidale on debut. This is a very winnable maiden for Taborca.

Best Bet

Race 2 – Silk #9 Taborca (5)

3yo Gelding | T: Cameron Crockett | J: Brooke Stower (59kg)

Next Best at Dubbo – Marillier

Tracey Bartley and Jake Pracey-Holmes combine in the third race of the day with stylish debut winner, Marillier. The two-year-old by Deep Field showed her rivals a clear pair of heels at this track and distance on May 21 to lead all of the way and win by over two lengths. Pracey-Holmes rode the filly on that occasion, so he now knows her well enough to repeat the dose. From barrier nine, Marillier is likely to go forward and lead again, which should see her prove very hard to catch. She looks a nice filly going forward.

Next Best

Race 3 – Silk #6 Marillier (9)

2yo Filly | T: Tracey Bartley | J: Jake Pracey-Holmes (57kg)

Best Value at Dubbo – Schiller’s Myst

Brett Cavanough and Mikayla Weir combine in the penultimate race with four-year-old mare Schiller’s Myst. The daughter of Artie Schiller closed off nicely two starts back at Scone during the Scone Cup Carnival before going to Randwick on May 28 where she ran in a Class 3 Highway over 1400m. The leader, Sunblue, really stacked the field up and was able to kick clear in the straight, so it was nearing on impossible for anything to make ground from the back – which is where this girl was. Back to country grade in a Fillies & Mares Benchmark 58 over 1310m should suit.

Best Value

Race 7 – Silk #5 Schiller’s Myst (15)

4yo Mare | T: Brett Cavanough | J: Mikayla Weir (61kg)

$4.50 with PlayUp
