Dubbo betting tips

What Dubbo Races
Where Dubbo Turf Club – 11L Merrilea Rd, Dubbo NSW 2830
When Monday, December 19, 2022
First Race 1:45pm AEDT

Dubbo racecourse will host a competitive seven-race program this Sunday. The track is currently rated a Good 4 and with warm weather forecast across the weekend, we should be in the Good range come raceday. The rail will be in the +4m position from the 900m-400m and in the True position for the remainder of the circuit.

The first race will kick off at 1:45pm AEDT.

Best Bet at Dubbo – Dupenny

In the second race of the day, we will be siding with the Brett Thompson-trained Dupenny as she looks to break her maiden at start number six, after running a very good second over 800m at Narromine on November 24. On Mondy, this lightly raced four-year-old mare will have her first attempt at the 1100m, and after closing off her first-up run with a strong finishing burst, we believe that she is ready to step up to 1100m second-up this preparation. With the aid of Shayleigh Ingelse’s 2kg claim and barrier two, this girl should lob in the one-one and follow the leaders before peeling off their backs on the home turn. With even luck, this girl should be better than this field and should be breaking her maiden.

Next Best Bet at Dubbo – Petain

Our next best bet of the day will come up in race four, where we will be siding with the Bob Howe-trained Petain. This eight-year-old gelding has been a great money spinner for connections with 38 top three finishes at his 84 career starts throughout his lengthy career. At his last eight starts this guy has won three and placed at the other five, indicating that he may be in some of the best form of his life. Two of this guys last three starts have been at Dubbo, where he has won one and finished third at the other. This son of Commands will step up in grade to Benchmark 66 grade on Monday, but there is no reason why he can’t run another good race for his followers, in a field that looks to lack depth.

Best Value at Dubbo – Careering Away

In the third race of the day over 2200m, the Gary Lunn-trained Careering Away looks to be a great value chance as he steps back in grade from a Benchmark 72 in town to a country Benchmark 58. This son of Hard Spun will have to carry a big weight of 65kg, but with the aid of Chelsea Hillier’s 3kg claim and the fact that he hasn’t carried 63kg at his last three country starts, the weight shouldn’t be much of a problem. This eight-year-old gelding has a great record at Dubbo, recording a win and three placings from five career starts. This guy loves to bowl along out in front of the field and set the race up for himself and lift the tempo before the home turn, and if he gets things his own way on Monday, he will be very hard to run down.
