Alice Springs Turf Club is located approximately 7km south of the town’s CBD with the Pioneer Park Racecourse providing spectacular views of the MacDonnell Ranges. There are 33 meetings held during the year. The track itself is a sand and waste oil surface and is 1690m in circumference with a 270m home straight.

Alice Springs Turf Club is located on the Stuart Highway about 10 minutes drive from the city centre of Alice Springs. Pioneer Park is also about a 10 minute drive from the Airport, for those coming from out of town.

The annual Alice Springs Cup Carnival starts in April culminating with the $100,000 Pioneer Sprint (1200m) and $110,000 Alice Springs Cup (2000m) on the first Sunday in May.

A new grandstand was erected at Pioneer Park at the turn of the century. In recent times rubber tiled pavers now adorn the mounting yard, the tie-up stalls have been upgraded, there are now three walkers, a lift has been added to the grandstand and the opening of a new restaurant is a welcome addition. For any trainer, jockey, owner and racing enthusiast visiting the Red Centre is a once in a lifetime experience that you’ll never forget.
