Flashback: Sale Great Chase
With many returning groups and some new friends, the sunshine brought many smiling faces to the TAB Great Chase Community Day at the Sale Greyhound Racing Club last year. Upwards of 200 community group members took part in a memorable day. Famous for the afternoon BBQ staffed by the club committee, management and staff, groups in attendance were supplied with a wonderful lunch at the club in the alfresco and picnic areas. Returning for 2019 was the Sale Specialist School, who in 2017 took home $1,000 in prize money. The…

Flashback: Cranbourne Great Chase
The TAB Great Chase is Victorian greyhound racing’s number one community event, distributing almost $650,000 to the disability sector since 2003. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The TAB Great Chase community days will not be running as per normal this year. Instead, we will be revisiting some of our favourite memories from last year including when five community groups brought 35 members to the Cranbourne Greyhound Racing Club for a fun day out. There may have been some strategy at play when the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC) and…
Pirates Patch eyes Meadows treasure
Glenn Maxwell celebrated his first city winner when Pirates Patch, the only greyhound he trains, scored at The Meadows last month and he’s hoping lightning strikes twice in Saturday night’s KCR Pet Transport Grade 5 Final (525m). Pirates Patch will tackle an outstanding line-up, headlined by Music Event, winner of his last five in a row, but she’s in career best form herself, having won four of her last six, with two of those victories coming at The Meadows. “She’s flying now,” said Maxwell. “She had a period where her…

Drinks on Wallbanger?
The tyranny of distance won’t stop Malgorzata Ginalska from watching Victorian star Wallbanger contest a Million Dollar Chase semi-final (520m) at Wentworth Park on Friday night. She’ll tune in from her mother country, Poland – around 15,000km away – to watch her favourite greyhound in the biggest race of his career. An MDC semi-final win would put Wallbanger into the MDC final – the world’s richest greyhound race – and a chance at a $1 million winner’s purse! Malgorzata will watch the race around midday Poland time, with Sydney being…
