Thief & Dogs ‘show stealers’?

TAB is offering $3.00 for the Western Bulldogs to defeat Melbourne in tonight’s ‘top of the table’ blockbuster and star greyhound Catch The Thief to win at Geelong. Now ‘that’s a steal’! Both teams have won nine games from 10 rounds, with the Bulldogs the AFL ladder leaders from the Demons. Last week, the Western Bulldogs were ‘full of bark’ defeating St Kilda by a massive 111pts, while Melbourne suffered a ‘hellish’ 1pt loss to the Adelaide Crows. The ‘Dees’ have gone off the boil during the past two weeks…

Faith in ‘Rambo’

Around 13 years ago, Mark and Lisa Delbridge purchased the 40-acre property of a loyal greyhound client, Gary Black, under a mutual arrangement. And they say it’s now time to repay the faith with Zipping Rambo in the Group 1 RSN Sandown Cup final (715m) at Sandown Park on Thursday night. “Gary’s been in the sport for at least 30 years… He’s not in it for the money, he’s in it for the enjoyment,” Delbridge said. “It would be nice to win it for him. He’s stuck by us and…

Interstaters lead Sandown Cup charge

Australia’s – and indeed the world’s – premier distance greyhound race, the $250,000 Group 1 RSN Sandown Cup (715m) has been dominated by Victorian-trained stayers over the last decade, with Tasmanian star Chinatown Lad in 2008, the last interstater to reign supreme. That could well change on Thursday night, with West Australian frontrunner ZACK MONELLI (Box 1), albeit based with ‘caretaker’ Victorian trainer Lyn Smith, TAB’s clear-cut $2.60 favourite to claim the $175,000 winner’s purse despite a shock heat defeat. Next in betting at $3.30 is NSW dynamo STANLEY ROAD…
