The Ballarat Turf Club is scheduled to host an eight-race card on Sunday afternoon and Horsebetting’s Victorian horse racing form analyst present his best bets, top odds and free quaddie numbers. Ballarat Best Bet: Maybe The Best
Resuming off a 15-week spell is the Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained Maybe The Best and we anticipate she will get the job done in the second leg of the quaddie. In a Class 1 field, where a lot of her rivals look to be genuine non-winners, we expect her to be simply too classy for this field. The I Am Invincible filly tends to make her own luck up on speed and from barrier 11, Jye McNeil will have no other choice but to go forward and settle outside the leader. Her runner up effort behind Galgani at Sandown prior to her spell saw her narrowly miss on the line and with a trial to her name prior to this first up run, we expect the residual fitness and a touch of class to be the difference here.
Ballarat Value Bet: Adelaide Ace
The Gold Nugget is the feature event at Ballarat on Sunday, and we expect the Lindsey Smith-trained Adelaide Ace to find himself back in the winner’s stall. The five-year-old son of Savabeel has chased home the likes of Ayrton, Dice Roll and Regardsmaree in his previous starts this campaign and despite this being a deep race, there is none of that type of class going around here. From barrier nine with speed drawn underneath him, look for Linda Meech to have Adelaide Ace settled in the moving line with cover. When the opportunity arises, we expect him to be too hard to hold out over the final 100m with race fitness on his side.
