By Jonny Turner Trainer Alister Black starts a seriously classy team at Winton on Thursday. Black will not lack any horsepower when he takes four horses to the races including his stable star Vintage Cheddar. The classy pacer’s form had dropped off for a couple of starts but he bounced back with a second behind race-rival U May Cullect in his last start in the Riverton Cup. Though it was a strong effort, Vintage Cheddar did not quite front with the kind of form that saw him win two junior…

The Watchdog hasn’t rushed in ‘Blind’. The form expert has seen the light, and selected a provincial star who is ‘G1 buttered’ on both sides. But she’ll need to have her eyes wide open to topple another country topliner and a track specialist. Want more on The Watchdog’s ‘Blind’ ambition? Simply click on today’s ‘Daily Mail’.

Hearts with ‘magical’ Houdini Boy
Has the great Houdini Boy performed his last racing act? Sadly, the star stayer suffered a possible career-ending hock injury in the Group 1 Fanta Bale Super Stayers final (725m) at The Meadows on Saturday night. Houdini Boy, who was a $1.90 favourite in the event, had moved into third position and in sight of leader Zack Monelli when he faltered on the third turn. He was scheduled to undergo surgery today to repair the hock. “We’ll know more about things following the operation,” Pearcedale trainer Kel Greenough said. “But…
QUICK AS A ‘FLASH’!
Heat 1 of the Shepparton Classic is a race for the swift… And that’s obviously influenced The Watchdog’s thinking. The form expert has opted for a sprinter that goes like a ‘Flash’ of lightning! And he’ll need to, as he’s opposed to a few will-o’-the-wisps. Who wins this ‘speed of light’ clash? Get the inside oil by clicking on today’s ‘Daily Mail’

Ridden by Leah Hemi, Llanacord enjoyed a…
