Popular Gippsland greyhound racing stalwart Raymond Keating passed away peacefully last Monday in Central Wellington Hospital, aged 75. He had endured a lengthy battle with stomach cancer. A former unit manager at Fulham Prison, Keating was a devoted family man with a passion for greyhound racing. Entry to track on race-day is limited to GRV registered participants engaged in the meeting, Club officials & GRV employees, plus 30 registered owners per meeting. Aspiring young Allansford trainer Sam Grant never fulfilled his greyhound racing dreams. Sam’s life was tragically cut short when his car and a freight train, on its way to Warrnambool, collided at a railway crossing on March 19, 2013. He was only 22.
